The bridesmaids and their lamps

The bridesmaids and their lamps Catholic Gospels - Matthew, Luke, Mark, John - Inspirations of the Holy Spirit Matthew 25:1-13

1 "Then the kingdom of heaven will be like this. Ten bridesmaids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
3 When the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them;
4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.
5 As the bridegroom was delayed, all of them became drowsy and slept.
6 But at midnight there was a shout, 'Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'
7 Then all those bridesmaids got up and trimmed their lamps.
8 The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
9 But the wise replied, 'No! there will not be enough for you and for us; you had better go to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'
10 And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet; and the door was shut.
11 Later the other bridesmaids came also, saying, 'Lord, lord, open to us.'
12 But he replied, 'Truly I tell you, I do not know you.'
13 Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

Inspiration of the Holy Spirit - From the Sacred Heart of Jesus

32nd Sunday in ordinary time - The bridesmaids and their lamps In this description of the kingdom of heaven, I am showing you how those who are wise and accept my call, think wisely and prepare themselves for the wedding banquet. In the meantime others listen to my word but don’t prepare themselves, so when the time comes for them they are not ready.

Life is long and yet is short, it is an opportunity to know me and to either accept me or reject me. While good people suffer looking at the bad people offend their God, the bad ones rejoice in their wrong doing and mock the good ones thinking that they are really smart and will never suffer the consequences of their evil deeds.

I have warned you from the very beginning, this is why evil met his punishment even in paradise. Evil was punished also in the time of Noah with the great flood, later on, fire rained on Sodom and Gomorrah and people still did not understand. Throughout the ages, different generations have faced the anger of God in different ways. Punishment came into the world after the first sin, and it is the prospect for those who reject God and take sides with the tempter.

I came to suffer for your sins, and my suffering was not in vain. The reward is awaiting those who appreciate my work of salvation. I gave instruction to my followers to proclaim the good news, those who believe and are baptized will be saved, but the unbelievers will be condemned.

My good news is bad news for the sinner that does not repent and amend his ways; he is cursing himself by not accepting the word of God that has come into the world. The foolish man will perish in his sins unless he repents.

Many will try the way of the gospel and persevere till the end; they will have their heavenly reward. Many other will hear the gospel, but for lack of perseverance will succumb to their wickedness and therefore perish eternally.

I insist: awake, beware, there is no time to lose, the moment of salvation is now.
Therefore, amend your ways and come back to the way of holiness that I have opened for everyone. Do not wait until it is too late!
