Life is sacred, because it comes from God.
Life is the most precious thing every creature or every human being has.
Life can be transmitted by parents to children; but it has its origins in the Divinity.
All life is a gift of God to creation. To be alive is to exist, to exist is to move in the world as a tiny part of creation.
Therefore, we must appreciate all types of life and preserve it, because life is precious.
(John 14:6) Jesus says: I am the way, the truth and the life. He is the life of every person; we live in Him.
He says (John 15:5) I am the vine, you are the branches. He is really saying that we are part of Him and that we can only live in Him.
Blood is like a symbol of life; that is why Jesus shed His Precious Blood, the blood of God, so that we could live eternally by drinking of that Blood.
When we pray honouring the Precious Blood of Jesus, we honour life.
This is the fifteenth Prayer of Saint Bridget; it honours life, the Precious Blood of Christ:
Our Father - Hail Mary
O Jesus! True and fruitful Vine! Remember the abundant outpouring of Blood, which Thou didst so generously shed from Thy Sacred Body as juice from grapes in a wine press.
From Thy Side, pierced with a lance by a soldier, blood and water issued forth until there was not lift in Thy Body a single drop, and finally, like a bundle of myrrh lifted to the top of the Cross Thy delicate Flesh was destroyed, the very Substance of Thy Body withered, and the Marrow of Thy Bones dried up.
Through this bitter Passion and through the outpouring of Thy Precious
Blood, I beg of Thee, O Sweet Jesus, to receive my soul when I am in my death agony. Amen.
