John 2:13-22

The zeal of your house has eaten me up.
13 And the pasch of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
It was a custom in the Old Testament to offer animals in sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin, I came to perfect the old law by becoming the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world with my death on the cross. The temple used to be full of people who came to negotiate these animals; they made a lot of noise and had lost all respect for the temple. For this reason I felt jealousy for the house of my Father and I drove them out of the temple. The Jews were always contrary to my doctrine and they wanted to know why I acted in that way. I responded to them with the prophecy of my resurrection although they did not understand. I told them that day to take away all those things that were offensive in the house of my Father, not only to speak of the respect that must be observed in the temple, but to bring to conscience the fact that every one is a temple of the Spirit of God. I desire my temple to be a place of sanctification. The human body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. My spirit is the light that guides human beings towards their liberation from the slavery of sin. My wisdom invites everyone to the way of goodness but is jealously opposed to the spirit of the world. A human being can not have two masters; either he cleans the house of God and accepts my Holy Spirit, or rejects me totally and opens the door to the evil spirits of the world. This is a struggle all human beings have, but every one can choose according to their free will. I knock at the door and call, I show my way and I invite you to walk it, I show you the error of the things of the world and I point to the truth, I warn you about the perdition of the soul and I offer eternal life. Become true temples of my Spirit, Stay in my Presence, do always what is right, obey the commandments, cast out all the evil spirits of the world, the devil and the flesh; stay away from so much unnecessary dissipation and maintain a clean house for your Lord.
