"We adore you, O
Christ and we bless you.
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world."
A large number of people followed Him, including women who mourned and wailed for
Him. Jesus turned and said to them, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me; weep
for yourselves and for your children."
Luke 23:27-28
Lord, in our human weakness we are so concerned to live our
lives without discomfort and pain, and yet you tell us that it is more important to seek
the Kingdom of Heaven and to weep for our sins in order to gain eternal life.
